Lately there is no many Ken related news, so the forum is kind of inactive for the most part.

So, I've wondering that maybe creating a new sub-forum to talk about Ken would be a nice idea, something like "Ken Hirai Chat" or something like that. I mean, we have news, media and gallery... and i feel like there is no place to just have random talks about Ken to discuss anything that is not related to the subforums that exist right now.

I would like to know if someone else thinks ...

I've just uploaded Ken's full discography to Jpopsuki: All his albums, all his singles and quite a few rare tracks plus two "bonus" albums. It's 2.3GB, but most torrent clients allow to download just some parts and not the whole thing in case you don't need everything.

All the albums and half of the singles [the ones labeled with (*) in the description] are my own rips, meaning they're encoded at MP3 320K VBR V0. The other releases vary from 128k to 320k.

Ken Hirai will also perform at this year J-WAVE LIVE 2000+8 festival on 8/17. Other artists scheduled to perform that day are Angela Aki, Thelma Aoyama, Suga Shikao and Kururi.

He has been performing at this summer festival for several years. In 2007 he performed with Shiina Ringo and in 2006 with Kazumasa Oda, so maybe we can expect another collabo this year.

I live in the States and I finally got to see it today (I don't see movies right out fresh so this is already 3-weeks old). The sound effects were totally cracking me up!! I am not going to spoil the whole thing here, but this Star Wars epic veteran sound effect guy did tons of references to Star Wars, and wait 'til you hear the sound after Wall-E is charged for the day...

Ok I'm sure this has been posted in the old forums but for the benefit of new members , I decided to upload scans from Ken's Utabaka 10th Anniversary Special Photobook .

Initally I wanted to get a copy from HMV Japan but after I found out from a fellow S'porean who bought the photobook which cost 3990 Yen & not to mention it has jack ass shipping charges at 3000 Yen , I bailed out as there's no way I'm willing to shell out so much $ on a photobook !

Woo hoo , my LIVE TOUR 2008 FAKIN' POP Tour Pamphlet arrived earlier on this afternoon with thanks to my Japanese friend who bought it on my behalf & mailed it to me last Tue & it finally came today !!

I must say that it's even better than what I expected it to be because on the net it looks small & puny size but it's quite heavy & it's a hardcover tour pamphlet box but it's worth every penny I paid for especially with regards to the pics that're found inside it !

This's going to be a 'stupid' question to ask but I know that Catch Ball's 1 of those dear & personal songs that Ken has written aside from others like even if & Shashin .

Because of the fact that I have never listen to the song before since it's in his 2nd album Stare At , I'm just curious to know , what's the song all about ?

ayaka covered Tsuyoku Naritai (Ken's song only included as a B-side in his "Love Love Love" single released back in 1998, which happens to be one of my favourite songs from him) at her first concert in Nihon Budokan last year. Ken Hirai Films Vol.9 included a multi-angle option for Elegy PV. This is the "alternative" angle, which focus on Ken's chest and shoulders for the most part. Kinda boring if you ask me, lol.

I've ripped it from my original DVD using Handbrake 0.9.2 and the following settings:

I believed Ken did this live performance of gaining through losing 7 years ago at FNS cos judging from the subtitles , it seems so + look at how his hair was back then !

even though I honestly don't like Ken in dyed hair or whatsoever , I must say that there's just something charming about him in that live performance that he did of gaining through losing .
